CCIP is an overseas internship program that takes place in NYC every summer since 2008. The program is organized directly by one of the 80+ US government designated visa sponsors, and the only J-1 internship program that collaborates directly with universities, without intermediaries.
10 years of history since 2008
J-1 Internship program that takes place in NYC
Administered directly by a US government designated visa sponsor
The only J-1 Intern program that works directly with schools
CCIP goes beyond conventional internship programs -- media exposure, professional networking, program activities, leadership initiatives, among many other accolades. Compared to other summer opportunities, CCIP participants leave the program with a more enriched and globalized portfolio that elite graduate programs and employers value. As is evident, "CCIP Appreciation Day" has been declared four times in Manhattan's history. In 2017, over half of our participants were awarded certificates issued by various US government officials.
Future-minded -- Globalized portfolios for elite opportunities
Holistic experience -- Integrate all components under one roof
No intermediaries -- Save costs and visa hassle
Accolades -- Honored by US legislators for CCIP's contribution to cultural exchange
The program welcomes full-time degree-pursing postgraduates and undergraduates aged 18 or older who are currently enrolled in and pursuing studies at a foreign degree- or certificate-granting post-secondary academic institution outside the United States. My positive experience in the USA through CCIP motivated me to pursue my master's degree at Harvard a few years later. Because of CCIP, I developed both professionally and personally. I would highly recommend this opportunity to students seeking an overseas internship.
I felt like I attended multiple internships. I interacted with people from all walks of life. I now understand a lot of different perspectives on things like economics, politics, and people's character.
The opportunity to intern overseas helped me polish my communication skills. I had to cooperate with staff from all levels, and that gave me a taste of different cultures as I learned from many people. Gaining so many different perspectives better prepared me for the diversity of the global business platform.
When I applied for jobs, I realized how valuable interning at Assemblyman Kim's district office through CCIP had been. Having been involved in a leadership role for the group activities helped me stand out from other candidates.
What I like most is that the program emphasizes a holistic experience. As a student leader, Ihad the chance to be involved in the program administration and activity organization. During the program, my soft skills sharpened tremendously, which had a profound impact on my life.
This experience helped me get the job finally. I think what employers are looking for is quite similar: efficiency, adaptability, and a solution-oriented mindset, which you can definitely cultivate in this great internship opportunity.
I truly appreciate the openness and equality that are embedded in people's hearts, and I want to promote that in Hong Kong. The endless discoveries and excitement have inspired and transformed me into a bright new person who always strives for a better world.
I always felt that I was so lucky to join this program. I met a lot of amazing and nice people, and I learned a lot from them. We shared good times together and experienced the Big Apple together.
This was such a great opportunity. CCIP offered an incredible chance to learn outside of my comfort zone in a setting that reinforced the development of my professional skills. It was a meaningful, enriching time. I enjoyed myself and learned a lot from it, so if you get the chance, make the most of it!
After completing a master's degree in the US and working at Google Hong Kong, I realize how those magical weeks in New York set the tone for my career and allowed me to explore my potential and passions while pushing me to grow beyond boundaries with a respectful attitude.
CCIP is offering these students a very unique opportunity to gain international experience, and I'm happy to be involved. With each new group of interns, I'm consistently impressed by how engaged they are and how excited they are to learn new things.
The only way to truly know a country, its people and its values is to spend an extended amount time in that country. CCIP provides its students the opportunity to observe and participate in the American way of life.
CCIP interns' diligence and creativity never disappoint and I continue to follow many of their social channels as they get careers, have families, and grow into extraordinary adults. They bring fresh energy and insight to the STUDIO, and we look forward to meeting them every summer."
Globalization is here to stay; this is an irreversible phenomenon. At Yu & Associates, together with CCIP, we hope to equip our interns with the necessary core values and tools to become globally responsible citizens.
